Where your money goes

Rapid Response Grants

We use a proportion of our funds to provide ‘emergency welfare’ - money to meet the immediate domestic needs of an individual child or family.

We make around 30 grants each year - the more funds we raise, the more we distribute. Our administration costs are very low as all of our panel members are volunteers.

Maintenance Grants

The rest of our funds are used to help maintain and enhance the services of Maidstone charities, voluntary, community and faith groups with a proven track record in this area of work.

This year we have so far made grants to the following organisations:

Crossroads Care - support for young carers

Blind Children UK - 'Movement Matters' programme

Maidstone and Mid Kent MIND - activities to complement their Children in Need Mental Health Worker post

Dandelion Time - working with families with complex relationship issues

M4S - working with families with children who have disabilities

Slideaway - supporting bereaved children

Beanstalk - helping children develop reading and communication skills

Previous recipients include  Five Acre Wood School, The Family FoodbankHome-StartMencap - Cobtree Playgroup and Crossroads Young Carers
